| I wanted the proposal to be unique and fun. When shopping for the engagement/wedding rings, I overheard a commotion in the mall. The jewellry store salesclerk said that it was a birthday party at the Build-A-Bear store. That gave me the idea for the proposal. I went to Build-A-Bear, selected a German Shepherd (Francine`s favourite dog) shell, stuffed it with stuffing, selected two small red hearts (representing the two of us) and rubbed them together, made a wish, and placed them in the dog's chest. I then did a digital recording of my voice on a small disk saying "Hello sweetie, I love you, will you marry me" and placed this inside the dogs front paw where it could be activated by putting pressure on the paw. I then bought a kit with a collar with a heart on it saying "Will You Marry Me", and a band on the paw saying "I Love You". I named the dog Buddy, placed the ring box in his mouth, and left him sitting on the dining room table on the morning of Saturday May 5th, 2012 for Francine to discover. She cried tears of happiness, she opened the ring and put it on, and she said YES. She called the next door neighbour Carey and our friend CoCo to come and see. We went to Trois Rivieres later that day for dinner with her family and to share the surprise. |
